Understanding the Ego Center

The Ego Center (also called the Heart Center or Will Center) is the motor for willpower. It governs the material plane — resources, value, worthiness, and the tribal agreements we make. It is the smallest motor in the bodygraph, designed to work in cycles of effort and rest.

How the Ego Center Expresses

Whether this center is colored in (defined) or white (undefined/open) in your chart fundamentally changes how you experience its energy.

Defined Ego Center

When the Ego Center is defined, you have reliable and consistent access to willpower. You can make promises and follow through. You have a natural sense of your own worth and value. This is a powerful motor, but it must be used correctly — it works in bursts, not continuously. Overworking the Ego Center leads to heart problems.

Undefined Ego Center

When the Ego Center is undefined, you do not have consistent access to willpower. The wisdom is in not making promises you cannot keep and not trying to prove your worth. The not-self trap is constantly trying to prove yourself, overcommitting, and tying your self-worth to what you can accomplish through sheer force of will.
